nice! its the best one yet, dynamic pose good coloring nice hilights, my only comment is the thick black line kinda faltins what looks like a well rendered painting.
Thanks, May-day....yeh, I'm trying to figure out the fine-line (haha) between too much black line, no black line, etc...I like the graphic hard edged feel to it, but then wonder if I'm diminishing the rendered, painted parts because of it. I'm still experimenting and playing around with the paint...I'll definitely be doing some paintings not utilizing the black line as I go forward.
Good job. I'd also like to see an un-flattened version as well- without a hard line and without the white border around it. Then you could work more with the lights and darks to define the form. Just a suggestion...
Damn, Justin- you really are on a roll with these paintings- and i'm loving the results!!! i'd be nervous to try something traditional these days... plus painting was always too messy and tricky for me. Can't wait to see more stuff!!!
i'm totally jealous man...it's been so long since I've painted that I feel like I don't have the hand for it anymore....awesome progression Justin! the only thing that could've topped it would be if it was filmed in fast motion! they truly are getting better with every new creation! great pop of orange!
i kinda liked the orange sky better (i'm looking at the pic that's the second from the left in the second row) as opposed to the pinkish sky that's in the final. but that's just me.
Dude, I fucking LOVE your work. This is Christoper from Kinokuniya who was sticking his nose in your sketchbook. I take my hat off to you. This is my shit here on this site. If you know how to navigate photobucket, then that's half the battle won right there.
Hey Christopher - Thanks for the accolades, man. You've got some pretty cool stuff there, yourself. You should set yourself up with a blogspot address!

Awesome dude! You're getting better with the gouaches. Keep at it, soon you'll be doing sold out painting workshops like DeVries!

Jess/Dan:Thanks gentleman. My next painting is going to be more 'traditional' in the style of painting, sans the graphic touches.

Thanks, Charles! Hey - you did those Wonder Woman pieces traditional...that's a great beginning!
This so ROCKS! I agree...now that you've picked up the brush again, one painting is better than the one before.
Keep'em coming!
Thanks, Rob! More will be forthcoming!
