Star Skull

Just a random sketch.

Gill Grunt

I did this sketch for my nephew on Christmas day. It's of the Skylanders video game character Gill Grunt. I drew it from 'life'...haha...well, from a small figurine/interactive toy piece that you use in conjunction with the video game.  I think I may have to pick him up myself, now!

The Grumble Monster

Here's the second of the two sketch commission rewards I did for Science's Indiegogo fundraising campaign.

The Roaming Eye

A few months back a friend of mine, Alexander Paul, the lead songwriter and singer/bassist in the band Science, asked me if I'd help out their Indiegogo campaign, trying to raise funds for a touring van. So, I said sure.

Here's the first of two commission sketches that a couple of fans picked up. One asked for a robot, the other a monster. Here's the robot! The sketches were originally to be sketchcards, but I couldn't locate my pack of blanks, so decided to go a little more detailed and drew these on 6 x 6 toned paper (which I had cut down from a 12 x 12 sheet).

Gouache Whales

I was asked to do painted whales (and sharks!) for a freelance assignment. These will be used in a print for kids swimwear.

Robot Robot

Just a 'lil robot operating a larger robot...

Robocrunch Cereal

This was created as an assignment for a concept art class taught by Marvel/DC artist and Monster Engine creator Dave DeVries at F.I.T. NYC. Created in Illustrator with a little bit of Photoshop and photography.

Globby

Another sketch I began during Hurricane Sandy, and finished up a few nights later.

Skull Head

Sketched this guy by flashlight during Hurricane Sandy and inked and toned him by cloudy, gray daylight.

Zombie

This started as an ink sketch that I then brought into Photoshop for tones, texture and some revisions.

Here's both versions.
