Surfer Shark

n to do some fun generic prints. I've also had the opportunity to do some licensed work. Doing research on Power Rangers to determine which Ranger and Megazord was from which of the dozen + Power Ranger shows in the PR - Super Legends, 15th Anniversary highly uninformative style guide, was not that bad a way to spend an afternoon).

Still, though, the most fun is always getting the chance to do my own original graphics, for screens.

I worked on a couple of versions of the shark - they were pretty similar, but inked differently to the final version - which I wasn't entirely happy with and decided not to use. I reworked the pencils, and then 'inked' the shark in Illustrator. The wave background was a pencil drawing that I inked by hand.

Jessiiitooo!!! THANK YOU!!!! That means a lot to me, man! I had a lot of fun with this guy - and luckily, I was given the time to be able to do the amount of work I needed, to get him right and try out a few things. Hopefully this gets bought (yeh, right) and some kids will be wearing it next Summer!

I saw the pencils on this particular design, and I really
liked them. With the added color it looks pretty damn sweet! I especially liked the monotone version it has
alot of contrast and power, good graphic.

That's a great Shark!

There's one thing I want to mention, but only if you're accepting constructive criticism- let me know.

Hey Dan - Thanks. I'm always open to constructive criticism. I'd love to hear.

Ok- it's just the white area of the wave right behind the white shark; even though there's a line separating the two, it can tend to blend together visually. If that one part of the wave were black it might define the form of the shark more.
And again, the shark is great.

Duly noted, and changed. I think it works better now, as well.
