King's Guard

This is another one I worked up in Photoshop, without a prior pencil sketch. I like working this way, but I think for a more dynamic piece, I need to do some actual pencil preliminaries.

wow justin!

so did you draw this directly in photoshop or illustrator?

and for someone who says his ps skills are lacking this piece doesn't look it!

love the depth and shading in the face folds!

are those filters or manipulated scans for the shirt?

all in all GREAT JOB!

(p.s.-thanks for stopping in at my rantology blog, i answered back there)

Hey, thanks, Jason! This was drawn directly in Photoshop.

I haven't done much PS work, but I'm having fun discovering stuff as I go along with textures and stuff. I don't think I used any filters on this - it's mainly just trying to paint it with some sort of depth and then playing around with texture layers and their opacity.

Thanks, again, man...! It gives me incentive to do more...there's still so much I have to learn!!

Hey, you put up some colored artwork!!! Nice job-- your Photoshop skillz are pretty tight, my friend. It IS amazing what you can learn through experimenting with the filters and something as simple as the opacity! Can't wait to see more!!!
